La construction to become + participe passé décrit aussi un procesus. Ce genre de construction est assez difficile à traduire. S' il n' y a pas de verbe specifique, il faut complètement changer la structure de la phrase.
L' entreprise se désorganisait. = The company became very disorganized.
Après la dernière marée les gens se sont appauvris = After the last flood, many people became impoverished.
